Heat Seven
The final heat of the Krypton Factor saw a diverse group of four hopefuls sparring for the last available place in the semi-finals. Former Investment Banker Sanjeev Rana thought he had the “raw intelligence” needed to win the show. Andrew Chipchase, a Special Needs Teacher, was nervous about stepping into the Krypton Factor Kube, saying "I think it’s going to get me!".
However, Andrew went on to cope well with the high-pressure ‘Grid Reference’ Mental Agility round, coming out as the early leader. He let his lead slip with a less impressive performance in Observation, and made the assault course look extremely difficult, finishing in last place.
GP Emily Lees, meanwhile, had been quietly amassing points, and went into the final round at the top of the leaderboard. Despite only gaining four points from the General Knowledge questions, Emily had done enough to hang onto the top spot. She said she was "so happy" to progress to the semi-final, one of only two women to do so in this series. Andrew ruefully admitted that the children he teaches may tell him to try the X Factor instead next time.
